Marithé’s fascination with the performing arts started when she became a student of the London Academy of Music & Dramatic Art at eight years old. During her childhood in the UK, she was a member of several youth choirs, took many drama classes and performed in musicals and plays at Brentwood School.
Upon returning to Belgium, her native country, she began studying Ancient Greek & Latin, later switching to secondary music education at the art academy ‘Musart’ in Hasselt.
At seventeen years old, she was accepted at the University of Arts in Berlin, where she completed her studies in July 2018. It was throughout these first few years of her Bachelor, that Marithé rediscovered her passion for philosophy, literature and history, and she soon started writing essays and articles in which she combined her love for (jazz) music and all things intellectual.
Marithé is currently studying musicology at the University of Oxford, and is active as a professional jazz vocalist and staff writer at All About Jazz, one of the most prominent online jazz resources of today.
